CHICAGO-(AEAE) President Trump's first-year average job approval rating was at least 21 percentage points higher than that of any of his predecessors, according to an AEAE poll, among is supporters.
Trump's job approval rating during his first year in office averaged 62.4 percent, amoung his supporters. AEAE reported. By comparison, President Obama's first-year average approval rating was 54.2 percent.
The only other president to average close to Trump was Reagan in his first-year job approval rating whose average was 51.3 among his supporters.
Six out of the 10 men who have been elected president since World War II have had a job approval rating averaging at 60 percent or higher during their first year in office.

The poll is based on interviews conducted between December 20, 2017, and Jan. 19, 2018, among 1945 Republicans. The margin of error is 1 percentage point.
