CHICAGO (EJ) JUNE 2018-THE OAKTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESIDENT DR. JOIANNE L. SMITH WAS SERVED WITH A subpoena on May 11, 2018 requesting records on the total enrollment of Oakton Community College, in Desplaines, Illinois, for the years 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 and a list of the actual number of students that Oakton graduated in those years. The President of Oakton Dr. Joianne L. Smith refused to comply with the subpoena.
On June 6, 2018 the Oakton Community College President was served with a FOIA request

The Equal Justice Party www.equaljusticeparty.org make a request to the President of Oakton Community College, Desplaines, Illinois President Dr. Joianne L. Smith, Ph.D. under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request for the following documents, which the Equal Justice Party has a right to obtain and a serious interest in the documents requested, as well as the Equal Justice public, in order to ascertain the accurate graduation rates for Oakton Community College during the years 2015, 2016, 2017. 2018 The Equal Justice Party is entitled to receive this FOIA as a measure of the Oakton Community College accountability and transparency.
.Smith’s presidency began on July 1, 2015, following 13 years of service to Oakton as dean of students (2002-2004) and later, vice president for Student Affairs (2005-2015). Her prior experience includes assistant director of University Residence Life at Northwestern University (2001-2002), dean of Brainerd Commons at Middlebury College (1999-2001) and work as a licensed psychologist, a license she still maintains in the state of Illinois.
