​​CHICAGO --The battalion commander who oversaw Tim Walz's former unit has criticized the vice presidential nominee for allegations of "stolen valor".Kamala Harris' running mate has already had to retract claims of having "carried" weapons of war in combat during his 24-year tenure in the Army National Guard and has faced accusations of being a "coward" from relatives of soldiers.

Lieutenant Colonel John Kolb, who took over Walz's unit after the governor resigned in 2005, has lambasted the Democrat for claiming the rank of Command Sergeant Major and for retiring prior to deployment to Iraq.
In a Facebook post, Kolb stated that Walz "did not earn the rank" and added that "it is an affront to the Non-commissioned Officer Corps that he continues to glom onto the title."
